Ashanti will release her fourth studio album “The Declaration” on Tuesday (June 3, 2008).Listening to the CD,you just can’t help being a little bit sad.Ashanti is one of these artists that you want to root for but their material won’t allow you to.This record is average at best,no stand-alone track, that you will want to listen to in few months. You just have a bunch of songs aligned together with no real coordination. On a positive note, she has grown vocally, but even with A-list producers like Jermaine Dupri and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, this project falls flat.
I am still trying to find out what Ashanti is declaring.
Hopefully she will have better days,in the future.
Rating:2.5/5
